Jeremiah Swenson

Biography
~From Deep Within~

Bloodroot’s target audience is basically anyone who has an ear to hear. Their vision is to meet people where they are, and present a Jesus who loves them even when no one else seems to--someone who can help them through any of the trials of life.

Their musical style is hard-hitting and groovy, and has been influenced by such bands as Living Sacrifice, Metallica, POD, and Pantera. Their shows are energetic and exciting; not "sit down" events. While Bloodroot’s style may not be appealing to everyone, it is embraced, in particular, by the youth. And in the midst of the energy of a show, the Word of God is brought to the audience in sincerity, as members are inspired to share a testimony, or explain the meaning of a song.

Bloodroot performs original music which addresses the type of world our youth are facing everyday. Their music is intended to boldly expose the lies of the devil that people are being asked to accept daily, and to reveal the truth that is often hidden from them by those who don’t know the truth themselves. They long to see young people become the persons God made them to be, not forsaking their God-given individuality, and not conforming to the mold of the world. They believe the walls of religion have cast too many aside, and distorted the image of Christ for far too long.

The band began in 1997 and it’s members are Jeremiah Swenson, Joshua Hersom, and Matt Werling. All three members are totally sold out to serving Jesus Christ. Jeremiah and Josh are committed and involved in their local church youth ministries as well. To add accountability to their ministry, Bloodroot is under the oversight of Kris and Gayle Swenson as part of WordAfire Ministries, Inc.
